Our FREE on-line META Tag Analyzer is the first of its kind on the Net. That's not too surprising for some of you who have been following us over the years. There are now other analyzers on the Net since we first released the META Tag Analyzer that try to do what we have been doing for years, but we think you'll find our META Tag Analyzer does it better and much more accurate.
As some of you know, we have been developing robot crawlers since 1996 so we have a pretty good idea how this technology works. We thought we would help our visitors with our knowledge and release this on-line version of our robot Scrubby to help you design a more robot friendly Web page.
Fact: Every major search engine including Google, Yahoo!, Scrub The Web, MSN Live and most others utilize META Tags! Don't let anyone tell you search engines (specially Google or Yahoo!) do not use META Tags. If you're visiting SEO sites that claim META Tags including the META Description are not used by search engines, then that SEO site should be removed from your bookmarks. Don't take our word for it, visit Google or Yahoo! and see what they have to say about it.
Fact: No major search engine requires META Tags. However, when properly constructed, META Tags can boost your click-throughs from search engines. Because of this it is highly recommended you provide these search engines with "search engine friendly" META Tags. This tool will attempt to verify your Web page is at least "search engine friendly".

Possible Problems You May Encounter:
- The META Tag Analyzer is a combination spider and syntax checker. If you are getting results which declare your page not to contain any Tags, and you know it does, please double check your syntax. Also make absolutely sure you are using the correct URL by clicking on it.
- With some servers our robot is unable to make a connection. This usually indicates your server is down, very slow or disallowing our robot access. If you receive an error indicating we can't connect, we apologize for this, but there is little we can do about it. We suggest you try again when your server isn't so busy and make sure your server is on-line and functioning properly.
- In some cases our program can't find your Tags. This is usually a syntax error. ALL these Tags MUST be between your <HEAD> and </HEAD> Tag.
- 99.99% of all problems reported have been because of HTML syntax errors so PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SYNTAX BEFORE TELLING US THERE IS A PROBLEM.
